ClubUp Subscription Tiers — Choosing the Right Plan
How to pick between Free, Premium and Group — for individuals, for casual organisers, and for the people running the whole show.
Picking a tier shouldn’t be complicated. Whether you’re a casual golfer joining a group, an individual tracking personal rounds, or an organiser running the whole show, ClubUp’s three tiers scale with what you actually do.
Here’s how each one fits.
The three tiers at a glance
| Tier | Price | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Free | £0 forever | Joining existing groups; tracking your handicap. |
| Premium | £2.99 / mo or £29.99 / yr | Individual golfers tracking personal rounds and running their own groups. |
| Group | £19.99 / mo or £199.99 / yr | Organisers covering costs for up to 40 members on one bill. |
Free — perfect for group members
The Free tier is for golfers who play within organised groups. Particularly powerful when the organiser uses the group payment model and covers everyone’s membership.
What’s in:
- Join any group where the organiser covers costs
- Full score tracking and real-time scoring
- Automatic handicap calculations within group rounds
- Personal stats and handicap history
- Access to group leaderboards and tournaments
What’s not in:
- Can’t create your own group
- Can’t join groups using the individual-payment model
Premium — full ClubUp access
Premium unlocks the complete app at under £3 a month. For golfers who want full control over their tracking and the ability to create groups.
Everything in Free, plus:
- Casual rounds. Start and track personal rounds at any club, independent of group play.
- Unlimited groups. Build your own groups using the individual-payment model.
- Multi-group access. Join any group, including individual-payment ones.
- Global handicap. Your handicap updates from group and personal rounds.
- Advanced scheduling. Build seasons, schedule rounds and tournaments.
- Full leaderboards. Tournament and season-long standings.
Group — group payment and bulk pricing
The Group tier is the same feature set as Premium but with one major difference: the group payment model and a serious bulk discount. Built for organisers who pay for their members.
Same features as Premium, plus:
- Group payment model. One bill, up to 40 members free.
- Bulk economics. Roughly £0.50 per member per month at full utilisation.
- Simple onboarding. Members join immediately, no subscription required.
- Single billing. No chasing individual payments.
Payment models
Every group operates under one of two payment models, chosen at creation:
| Model | Who pays | Who can join | Organiser tier |
|---|---|---|---|
| Group payment | Organiser | Anyone (Free and up) | Group |
| Individual payment | Each member | Premium or Group members | Premium or Group |

- You need full flexibility in round tracking
Choose Group if…

Growing with ClubUp
Upgrading as your needs change is built in. Start on Free as a group member, move to Premium when you begin playing personal rounds, jump to Group when you decide to organise your own.
Your data, handicaps and history move with you between tiers. Your golf history shouldn’t be locked behind a subscription boundary.
