Data controller
ClubUp is the data controller for the personal data described below. If you have any questions about this notice, write to us at support@club-up.co.uk.
Data we collect
When you create an account inside the ClubUp app, we collect your name, email address, and the golf-related data you choose to enter— your handicap, the groups you join, the rounds you record, and any messages you post in a group chat. We do not require a date of birth, a phone number, or a photo unless you choose to add one.
This website itself (the marketing pages you’re reading now) does not require an account. There is no web sign-in.
How we use it
We use your data for the sole purpose of running the ClubUp service — displaying your name inside groups, calculating handicaps, scoring rounds, ranking leaderboards, and delivering notifications you’ve asked for. Our lawful basis is contract performance: the data is necessary for the app to work as you’d expect.
We do not sell your data. We do not share it with third parties for marketing. We do not run advertising of any kind — on any tier, in the app or on this site.
Account data is stored securely in a database hosted by Supabase within the European Union, who act as a data processor on our behalf.
Analytics & cookies
This website uses Vercel Analytics to count anonymous page views, so we know which pages are useful. It runs only after you accept the cookie banner on your first visit. It does not use cookies that track you across other sites, and it does not build a profile of you.
If you decline, no analytics scripts load and we collect nothing from this site about your visit. You can change your mind from the link in the footer at any time.
Retention
Your personal data is retained while your account is active. If you delete your account from inside the app, we retain it for up to 24 months to preserve historical group records (so a season leaderboard from two years ago still makes sense), after which it is anonymised.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to:
- Access — ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correction — ask us to fix anything that’s wrong.
- Erasure — ask us to delete your personal data.
- Restriction — ask us to limit how we use your data.
- Portability — ask for your data in a portable format.
- Objection — object to processing where we rely on legitimate interests.
To exercise any of these, write to support@club-up.co.uk and we’ll respond within one month.
Complaints
If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your personal data, you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk. We’d appreciate the chance to put it right first.
Updates to this notice
We’ll update this page when we change anything material. The date at the top reflects the last meaningful change.
